Each leak detector sensor is housed in a robust IP65-rated ABS enclosure and is simple to connect using cable lengths to suit the installation. Screw terminals are provided for the three wires in and the three wires out to the next Sensor in the chain, allowing easy daisy-chain connection to a central leak detection panel.
The Sensor enclosure is held off the floor by rubber feet, with two M3 threaded stainless-steel probes extending downwards to within 1mm of the floor. These probes act as highly sensitive leak sensors, and for any detector leak monitoring application, they are capable of detecting the presence of water or other conductive fluids at very low levels. If required, the probes may be extended using the threaded design, and the enclosure also provides fixing points for bolting the Sensor directly to the floor.
In operation, these units function as highly reliable sensors, detecting conductive liquids such as water at depths of approximately 1 to 2mm. When connected to a Deeter controller, multiple units can be linked using standard 3-core wiring or leak detection cable, forming a scalable leak detection system. This setup acts as a comprehensive leak detector system suitable for plant rooms, data centres, bunded areas, and other critical infrastructure requiring a dependable leakage detection system.
In addition to water monitoring, the sensor can also be used as an oil leak sensor in applications where oils or other conductive process fluids are present. This makes it suitable for use as an oil leakage detection sensor in environments such as generator rooms, pump housings, and industrial machinery spaces, where early warning from oil leak detectors can prevent environmental contamination and equipment damage.
